Lectures and Discussions

Classes involve lectures, discussions as well as dictation depending on the requirement of the topic. Every class starts with clearing doubts. The rule is that students know the topic in advance, are provided content in advance and they have to read at least once before coming to the class. Each topic is discussed threadbare along with discussion and the students are expected to write at least one answer to the questions provided to them, brought the next day for evaluations.

Regular Tests

After 3 chapters there is a one day break followed by a Test. After the next 3 chapters there is a 2 day break and test of all the 6 chapters. After completion of the section there is again a 2 day break and test of the whole section. Students are advised to revise their answers in the light of the discussions conducted after each test and get the answers evaluated again.

Besides, they have to appear in 2 comprehensive tests one each for Paper 1 and Paper 2 after the preliminary examination irrespective of their batch.

Study Material

Study material consisting of the summary of more than 250 books and journals along with important articles and latest case studies from various journals, magazines, and newspapers is provided to the students. Though the study material is available on some websites as pirated but firstly it is outdated while a major part of the study material is updated every year. Secondly some photocopy shops in Rajender Nagar are selling spurious material as our class notes. The fact is that our class notes are not available anywhere in the country.

Answer Writing

The students are expected to write answers from day 1 and they must write at least 80 answers from the class discussions besides answers to the questions asked in the tests. Answer writing helps in performing better in the optional papers but also to handle Social Issues in General Studies as also building the framework of Essay.

WhatsApp Groups

There is a common whatsapp group for all the current batches directly handled by the director where all current issues of General Studies and Anthropology from 10 newspapers and several magazines are shared and students are encouraged to participate in the discussions. Besides, students are encouraged to form a whatsapp group of their batch where they interact with each other with respect to their total preparation.

लेक्चर्स आणि चर्चा:

• वर्गांमध्ये लेक्चर्स, चर्चा, आणि विषयाच्या गरजेनुसार डिक्टेशनचा समावेश असतो.
• प्रत्येक वर्गाची सुरुवात शंका निरसनाने केली जाते.
• विद्यार्थ्यांनी विषयाची माहिती आधीच घेतलेली असावी, कारण त्यांना पूर्वीच साहित्य पुरवले जाते. विद्यार्थ्यांनी विषय किमान एकदा वाचलेला असणे आवश्यक आहे.
• प्रत्येक विषय सखोलपणे चर्चिला जातो आणि विद्यार्थ्यांना दिलेल्या प्रश्नांची किमान एक उत्तरं लिहून दुसऱ्या दिवशी तपासणीसाठी आणावी लागतात.

नियमित चाचण्या:

• 3 प्रकरणांनंतर: एक दिवसाचा ब्रेक व चाचणी.
• 6 प्रकरणांनंतर: दोन दिवसांचा ब्रेक व सर्व 6 प्रकरणांची चाचणी.
• विभाग पूर्ण झाल्यावर: दोन दिवसांचा ब्रेक व संपूर्ण विभागाची चाचणी.
• विद्यार्थ्यांनी चाचणीनंतर झालेल्या चर्चांवर आधारित त्यांच्या उत्तरांमध्ये सुधारणा करून ती पुन्हा तपासण्यासाठी द्यावी.
• विद्यार्थ्यांना प्रिलिमिनरी परीक्षेनंतर, पेपर 1 आणि पेपर 2 साठी 2 सर्वसमावेशक चाचण्यांना उपस्थित राहणे बंधनकारक आहे.

अभ्याससाहित्य:

• 250 हून अधिक पुस्तकं, मासिकं, व ताज्या केस स्टडींच्या सारांशासह महत्त्वाचे लेख पुरवले जातात.
• काही वेबसाइट्सवर जुने साहित्य पायरसीच्या स्वरूपात उपलब्ध आहे, परंतु आमचं साहित्य दरवर्षी अद्यतनित केलं जातं.
• राजेंद्र नगरमधील काही फोटोकॉपी दुकाने आमचे वर्ग नोट्स म्हणून चुकीचं साहित्य विकत आहेत, पण आमच्या वर्ग नोट्स देशभरात इतरत्र कुठेही उपलब्ध नाहीत.

उत्तर लेखन:

• विद्यार्थ्यांनी पहिल्या दिवसापासून उत्तर लेखन सुरू करणे अपेक्षित आहे.
• विद्यार्थ्यांनी वर्ग चर्चांवर आधारित किमान 80 उत्तरं लिहावी, त्याशिवाय चाचण्यांमधील प्रश्नांची उत्तरं लिहावी लागतात.
• उत्तर लेखनामुळे पर्यायी विषयांमध्ये चांगली कामगिरी करता येते, जनरल स्टडीजमधील सामाजिक प्रश्न हाताळता येतात, तसेच निबंध लेखनाचा पाया तयार होतो.

व्हॉट्सअॅप ग्रुप्स:

• सर्व चालू बॅचसाठी एक सामान्य व्हॉट्सअॅप ग्रुप, जो संचालकाद्वारे थेट हाताळला जातो, त्यामध्ये 10 वृत्तपत्रं आणि मासिकांमधून चालू घडामोडी आणि मानवशास्त्राशी संबंधित माहिती शेअर केली जाते.
• विद्यार्थ्यांना त्यांच्या बॅचचा स्वतंत्र व्हॉट्सअॅप ग्रुप तयार करण्यास प्रोत्साहित केले जाते, जिथे एकमेकांशी तयारीविषयी चर्चा करता येते.
