His father, Late Naveen Jhunjhunwala, played a significant role in shaping his early outlook toward academics and personal growth. His mother, Anju Devi Jhunjhunwala, also provided continuous encouragement and support throughout his educational journey.

Growing up in Muzaffarpur, Raghav developed a strong academic foundation during his schooling years. The environment of academic discipline and intellectual curiosity in his formative years played a crucial role in shaping his aspirations. Over time, these experiences motivated him to pursue higher education and later prepare for the prestigious UPSC Civil Services Examination, which is considered one of the most challenging competitive exams in India.

Raghav Jhunjhunwala has maintained a consistent record of academic excellence throughout his educational career.

He completed his Class 10 education in 2017 from D.P.S. I Garhan Hathouri Sanathi, Muzaffarpur under the CBSE board. After that, he pursued his Class 12 education from G.D. Mother International School, Muzaffarpur, also affiliated with CBSE, and completed it in 2019.

For higher education, Raghav joined Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), University of Delhi, one of India’s most prestigious institutions for commerce and economics studies. He completed his B.A. (Honours) in Economics in 2022.

During his time at SRCC, Raghav demonstrated strong academic capabilities. He was awarded the prestigious Charat Ram Gold Medal in recognition of his outstanding academic performance. In addition to his coursework, he also worked on a research paper related to the Non-Performing Assets (NPA) crisis in India, highlighting his interest in economic policy and financial systems. This academic engagement helped him develop analytical and critical thinking skills that later proved valuable during his UPSC preparation.

Raghav Jhunjhunwala’s success in the UPSC examination reflects a journey marked by persistence and gradual improvement across multiple attempts.

He appeared for the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination three times—2023, 2024, and 2025.

In his first attempt in 2023, he successfully cleared the Preliminary Examination but could not qualify for the Mains stage. This experience helped him better understand the demands of the examination and refine his preparation strategy.

In his second attempt in 2024, he made significant progress by clearing both the Preliminary and Mains examinations. He also appeared for the Personality Test (Interview). However, he was not included in the final list of recommended candidates that year.
